What if I have remaining Manufacturer Warranty on my game console?


We encourage customers to return the item to the retailer from where it was purchased for any repairs within 12 months of purchase (this may be more than 12 months if you purchased Extended Warranty through the retailer) to ensure the balance of your warranty is not voided. Any repairs carried out by us under customer warranty will void said warranty.
However, we will take on a repair under warranty with this understanding.

What if my Game Console is out of warranty or the Manufacturer/Retailer refuses my repair?


In this situation, we recommend an Independent repair specialist… Shy Guy Gaming! We will happily accept your console for repair!

Do you guarantee your repairs?


All standard repairs are covered by a 6 Month Warranty covering workmanship and parts.
Repairs carried out on Modified Consoles are not accompanied by a warranty of any kind.
Please Note: HDMI and USB ports that have been damaged by the customer or subjected to excessive wear are not covered by warranty.

What if I attempted a repair myself?


We don’t judge! It’s not as easy as it looks on YouTube. As long as no major damage has been caused then we will treat it as a normal repair.

If major damage, such as lifted pads or broken traces are present, we may charge a “Prior Repair Attempt Fee” of up to $100 in addition to the repair cost, if we deem it is still viable to work on the console. We will inform you if this is the case and only continue working on the item if you agree to the additional fee, otherwise, we will arrange for you to pick up the item at no charge.

If we determine the console is damaged irreparably we will not continue work on the console and inform you of our decision and arrange for you to pick up the item at no charge.

How long will it take to repair my console?


Turnaround times can be hard to guarantee due to the number of jobs in our workshop and part availability, however, most repairs are completed in less than a month.
We will always advise a customer if we believe the timeframe will be longer or if we will require more time to complete the work.

Do I need to make a appointment?


We have a very flexible method for pick-ups and drop-offs.
Just let us know a day and a rough time that you’ll be dropping by and then shoot us a message on 0480 079 679 when you are about to arrive. Simples!

Please Note: We definitely don’t do walk-in customers as we are a home-based business. Thank you for your understanding!

What if I can’t drop-off or pick-up my item during Business Hours?


We understand that many people can’t make it here between 9am and 5pm on weekdays (our new business hours), while others are shift-workers, carers, etc.

We pride ourselves on being as flexible as possible and can accomodate times outside of business hours and on weekends when necessary.

Do you repair Personal Computers, Phones, Tablets, Apple products, etc?


We do not repair these items any longer. We started our humble business in 2021 with the sole intention of specialising in Game Consoles and Game Console Accessory repairs exclusively.

We expanded our workload as a direct response to the 2022 floods that devistated our beautiful region, to support both our affected customers and to assist Computer Repair and Phone/Tablet Repair shops that were themselves severely affected.

We believe in staying true to our passion and purpose – Video Game Consoles, Handhled Game Consoles and Controllers/Accessories 🙂

Can you fix my Nintendo Gameboy or DS, PlayStation PSP or Vita, Sega Game Gear, etc?


Absolutely!! We love console gaming in all its forms, We would gladly get your little pocket rocket working like new so you can relive some childhood memories!

Can you fix my PlayStation, Xbox, NIntendo, Sega, Atari controller?


Again, Absolutely!! We pride oursleves on being one of the few– and we mean very few – repair businesses in Australia to repair controllers.
No one can expect you to play your shiny, good as new console without a fully working controller right? 😉

Caveat – We will only repair Official and Licensed (MadCatz, Logitech, Hori, Activision, PDP, etc) Controllers as the knock-off versions are generally just garbage internally. If you’re unsure, just send us some photos of the controller.

Do I need to bring cables and controllers if my console is being repaired?


Generally No, you do not need to bring your cables or controllers, all we need you to bring is the console itself.
If it is a very vintage console we may require them but we will make sure to let you know in advance.

Do you still charge if you are unable to fix my console?


No Way! We have a “No Fix – No Fee” policy. If we can’t fix it, we return it to you free. Happy Days!!

Do you charge a diagnostic/appraisal fee?


We don’t believe in upfront fees and we won’t charge you a thing unless we successfully repair your item!!

Do you do same-day repairs?


While we strive to complete all jobs in the shortest time-frame possible, we can not guarantee repairs in 24 hours, 48 hours, etc.

Are you open on weekends?


We no longer trade on Saturdays or Sundays. If you need to pick-up or drop-off your item(s) on a weekend, we are felxible, just let us know.

Are you Console Mod Friendly?


Yes, we work on previously hardware and/or software modded consoles, but offer no warranty on repairs if the console is modded.

Can you Mod My Console?


Potentially. We may accept a request to perform a hardware and/or software modification on your console or controller.
Please understand that we will not offer a warranty in these cases and do not provide technical support regarding the functioning and usage of mods, so you will need to reasearch and understand how to utilise your mod.
